Some Best Poker Movies of All time

Hollywood movies do make some gambling and card games to add spice to a movie. Here are ten movies that have scenes depicting gambling specially a poker game.

1)California Split (1974). The only movie that shows the daily life of card games, betting and dramatizing a gambler's daily life. The movie stars George Segal and Elliot Gould with World Series of Poker Amarillo Slim doing a cameo

2)The Sting (1973). Starring Paul Newman and Robert Shaw. Notable scene of this movie showing Paul Newman cheated a shock Shaw in a poker game while aboard a running train.

3) The Cincinnati Kid (1965). Famous for the line "That's what it's all about, doing the wrong thing at the right time. This poker movie stars the late Steve McQueen and actress Ann Margret.

4)Kaleidoscope (1966). A Warren Beatty film where the plot focuses on breaking inside a poker cards factory and altering the plates. Beatty in the scene showing putting marks on the plate which he only sees to win games. Warren Beatty almost empties the house but in the end a no limit game was played but this time new cards were use and the outcome was astonishing.

5) Born Yesterday (1950). A fine film with some great action scenes. This time Judy Holliday plays a dumb bar girl and Broderick Crawford as the coarse man scene.

6) A Big Hand for the Little Lady (1966). This movie is worth watching with one scene showing a player walks down the street carrying her cards while the game is in order. The cast includes Joanne Woodward Henry Fonda and several good character actors. The movie is about a "little lady with a big hand."

7) Three Godfathers (1936). This movie has several versions. The 1948 version with John Wayne stars is probably the best. Some of the film popular lines are, "I dunno. I guess I'm just no good rat" spoken by Brennan after a stranger asks him "Why did you do that".

8) Dr. Mabuse - The Gambler (1922). A movie about mind control usage in a poker game and other gambling forms. Fritz Lang directed the movie well. Probably one of three great silent foreign movies at that time. Notable for a scene with a man entering a club being upon entering "cards or cocaine?

9) Run (1990). A movie showing Patrick Dempsey giving a casino dealer some tips. The climax shows a violent and losing player forces Dempsey being offered to draw just one card instead of the normal patting.

10) The Gunfighter (1950). A great Western movie with Gregory Peck getting the lead role. He (Gregory Peck) having to leave his normal life and instead go to preserve his refutation. Famous lines includes "I've seen a better fights than this in a prayer meeting" while in a poker game. And "I wouldn't sit in this game with cards I made myself.
